is comprised of two brothers and their sister Jeneda, Clayson
and Klee Benally. Born into the heart of a political land
dispute area on
Black Mesa in the Navajo Nation, this family’s powerful
music reflects the Hopes, Freedoms, and Barriers of today’s
BLACKFIRE’s style encompasses traditional Native American, Punk-Rock and
“Alter-Native” music and bears strong socio-political messages
regarding government oppression, relocation of indigenous
people, eco-cide, genocide, domestic violence and human rights.

energetic fusion of Afro-Caribbean, reggae, rock, and hip hop

represents the wide ethnic diversity of its members, inspiring
audiences to dance to the movement of rebellion.

"We are Grateful Dead "cover" band as opposed to a
"tribute" band, which means we don't necessarily completely
emulate the Dead, but we play Grateful Dead tunes with our own
personal styles. In keeping in tradition with the Grateful Dead,
we also cover some other great artists such as The Band, Allman
Brothers, and Phish.

The Okbari Middle Eastern Ensemble is Amos
Libby (oud, vocals), Eric LaPerna (percussion), Michael Gallant
(violin), and Carl Dimow (flutes). Okbari presents music
from the richly varied contemporary and historic cultural
traditions of the Middle East including Ottoman Turkish
Classical compositions, rural Turkish folk and devotional songs,
Arabic classical and folk music, and dance music from the
Armenian and Turkish immigrant diasporas.
